Know the reasons why industries use FRP grating structures

The construction section uses advanced and modern raw materials that are introduced in the recent days to the market to make the buildings strong and durable for a longer time. In the earlier times, most of the architects used traditional alternatives like wooden, steel and aluminum structures for making buildings and accessories. But it is seen that these conventional structures have various disadvantages that made them unpopular in the market. Thus, the search for new and robust alternatives started and FRP structures came into existence. FRP structures have several benefits that made widely accepted in the market.

Know More about FRP Grating:

Among all the products that are available in the market, FRP grating is gaining importance in these days. They are largely used in various industrial applications to reduce the risks that are faced by the workers who work in sectors like petrochemical plants, gas and mining, oil refineries, waste water treatment plants, food and beverages, aquaculture, marine industries and many more. It is proved that FRP pultruded structures are strong, anti-corrosive in nature and are no affected by chemicals and moisture. All these features have made FRP structural solutions popular among the builders.

Methods Of Manufacturing:

There are two methods that are used in manufacturing FRP structures. The two processes are molded grating and pultrusions process.

•    The Molded Process

It is one of the common processes that are used in making FRP structures. Here, the glass fibres are placed in the liquid mould in a continuous manner by vertically and horizontally. The glass fibres are soaked in the liquid resin in a layer-wise technique. After the weaving process is over, the liquid mould is heated to cure the panel. After the process of curing, the panel of a matrix is removed from the mould. The upper layer of the panel will be having a concave shape.

•    Pultrusions Process:

It is another process that is followed to manufacture FRP structures. Here, reinforced fibres are heated at high temperatures. The manufacturers select the reinforced materials like fiberglass roving, fabric and woven fabric that are chosen and they are drawn from the resin bath. The resins that are used in this process are polyesters, phenolics and vinyl esters. With the application of this process, FRP products attain perfect shape and size. The fibres are then pulled in the die and heated to get the structure.

Thus, FRP grating structures are increasing in demand in these days due to the various advantages they offer to the industrial sectors. They are highly non-corrosive, light in weight, easy to maintain, offer easy installation and also low price.
